Miss Madeleine Presents

MISS MADELEINE PRESENTS…

This is a copy of a report that I sent to the Royal Childrens Hospital for their newsletter - I thought you might be interested!

Caulfield Auxiliary held an event recently that certainly wasn’t in their own backyard!!  It was actually held in North East Victoria but still very close to home for Pat Piper, President as it was run by her daughter Robyn and granddaughter Ellen.  Both are members of the Auxiliary having earned their 10 year and 5 year badges recently.  It was a real family affair as Robyn’s husband Neil is also a member along with her sister Jillian who is Treasurer of the group.

The idea for the event came from a casual discussion between Robyn and a local business owner of a stylish Millinery and Vintage clothing store who agreed to choreograph a parade at Renaissance Chocolates, a chocolate shop and café owned by Robyn and her husband Neil.  Ellen – Pat’s granddaughter put the finishing touches to an exciting event plan and was mistress of ceremonies on the day!

Thirty five ladies started the afternoon with a glass of bubbles from local winery – Cofield Wines, and then enjoyed a parade of Millinery and Vintage clothing - many ladies eyeing off an enviable outfit, hat or piece of jewelry for the upcoming local racing season.  The grand finale was a delectable chocolate high tea prepared by Renaissance Chocolates.

$1238 was raised on the day for The Caulfield Auxiliary whose main beneficiary is a research fellowship through the Aitken Foundation looking into Juvenile Type 1 Diabetes.
