The highs to lows!!

Posted: Sunday, 17 October 2010 by Robyn Funston

One week we are all excited - we had a marvellous official opening - and the next we are flooded - boy did we choose the right week for our event!  We had have rain 4 weeks previous and our car park flooded but dried out just in time for the opening.  Then the week after we got heavy rain again and it flooded the shop and the factory.  We cleaned that up - dried up the floors but overnight the water crept up through the paddocks and when we woke up on the Sunday morning we had a new lake - in our car park!!  It is still flooded but customers are finding their way through - thankfully.

Official Opening

Posted: Monday, 11 October 2010 by Robyn

At last - we have opened - well officially that is!!  And what a fantastic day it was.  We were honored to have our outgoing MLA, Mr Ken Jasper, Member for Murray Valley as our official guest and Ken had a great time mingling with over 60 invited guests.  Ken decided that he needed to stand on a box so that the crowd could see and hear him and he was very supportive of our new tourism venture for the region that he loves, and supports, so much.  To make the whole event official Ken then used a silver hammer to break a block of dark couverture to the cheers of the crowd - who then joined with Ken in nibbling on it!!  The best part was that Mum, Sean and Ellen were able to part of the day as well as good friend Barb Lowrey, ABC journalist, lots of friends and local business people.  Ken signed a lovely plaque for us also - come and visit to read it.
